Stafford Road, Wallington

 

St. Arthur Homes was contacted by Sutton Council in early 2016 regarding the development of 4 affordable apartments in a development of 29 units including 1, 2, & 3 bedroom apartments and a ground floor retail unit in Stafford Road, Wallington.

 

It was understood that because there was just a small number of affordable units associated with the development, they were not of interest to the larger established RPs who operate in the borough. But for St. Arthur Homes this development was more than ideal.

 

St. Arthur Homes agreed to purchase the affordable units subject to contract and on condition that the two affordable rented tenure apartments were changed to intermediate/shared ownership.

 

The construction began in late 2016 with an estimated building completion date of late 2018. Marketing for the available units commenced in late 2017 with prices offering a 50% share ranging from £150,000 to £217,500.

 

St. Arthur Homes successfully achieved their first reservation off plan in January 2018 and subsequently instructed the local office of property group, Countrywide, who managed to secure buyers for the remaining apartments over the next few months.

 

After a few delays in construction, the development is now complete and St. Arthur Homes moved the new residents in late Summer 2019.
